There are many good reasons to look eastwards. Learning Cyrillic letters and Russian vocabulary means not only getting to know a fascinating new culture, but also having great opportunities for your future professional career. Russian is the most widely spoken Slavic language in the world and is spoken by around 170 million people as their mother tongue, according to the "Kulturportal Russland".

What our students say...
Why Russian? The short answer is - why not. The long answer is that I enjoy improving my skills in a language that I already speak because of my migrant background. It's nice to realise that I can converse with my friends from Russia more and more easily instead of having to resort to a language that is foreign to all of us, like English. It makes me want to learn more Slavic languages and I'm thinking about learning Sorbian or Polish next.
