The university offers numerous exchange programmes with partner universities around the world. Students have many opportunities to study in a Spanish-speaking country such as Spain, Colombia, Chile, Argentina or Mexico.

Some exchange programmes require a certain language level. We are happy to support students in achieving their language goals.

For questions about learning Spanish or the recognition of prior language achievements, please contact our team. More information about the process of studying abroad can be found on the Viadrina International Affairs website.

The Intercultural Immersion Programme is a practice-oriented course designed to develop intercultural competence. Its goal is to bring the culture of Spanish-speaking exchange students, who spend a semester at our university, into contact with the local culture and, in doing so, create intercultural awareness on both sides.

This project is led exclusively by exchange students who have Spanish language skills. It aims to introduce students at our university to the culture related to the Spanish-speaking regions through activities organized by exchange students.

In this way, the programme helps participants better understand everyday aspects of Spanish-speaking countries and analyse cultural situations that can contribute to breaking down stereotypes.

What our students say

I like the fact that we are challenged, but still always have fun. We were never afraid to ask questions. I also liked the fact that we didn't just talk about Spanish grammar, but that we used different forms of work (videos, group work, discussions, games, individual work, etc.).
